K & M’s Proposal

Locations: North 5th Street Pier and Park, Marsha P. Johnson State Park (Williamsburg)

When M reached out about a proposal shoot, his heart was set on the longest of four piers at North 5th Street Pier and Park. This spot held deep significance to his and K’s relationship, being the site of their very first date. This pier is especially incredible because it directionally points right at the Empire State Building.

After K said yes, I switched from a wide angle lens to a telephoto lens, allowing for some serious compression between K/M and the Empire State Building - it looked like they were directly next to it!

Following our pier photoshoot, we walked over to the neighboring Marsha P. Johnson State Park, where we conducted an impromptu mini shoot amongst the Smorgasburg crowd.
