Proposal FAQs

  • The correct answer really is “as early as possible,” but at least 4-5 weeks out will ensure we have enough time to bring your vision to life and nail down details and logistics.

  • Candid coverage of the big moment, followed by a photoshoot (usually 30-60 minutes). Advanced planning guidance, including an onsite or virtual walkthrough (time permitting). 35-45+ edited final images.

  • I’m flexible, as long as it’s during daylight. My clients typically determine timing around lighting, crowds, and of course, availability.

  • There are a few approaches we can take:

Stay the course: rain (or bad weather) can create favorable conditions for your proposal, such as uniform lighting (no harsh shadows from the sun) and a more intimate environment (fewer crowds!). Therefore, I almost always suggest we stick with the plan, regardless of weather.

Reschedule: I’m typically flexible as long as we reschedule with enough advanced notice.

  • Preview images are typically delivered within 24 hours (via text).

Your full gallery will be delivered no more than 7 days after the shoot (via Pixieset).

  • Yes! Once we know the timing and vibe you’re going for, we’ll review the best location options.

  • Every proposal is unique, but I usually take a “hide in plain sight” approach - standing right at (or near) the spot while blending in as just another tourist with a camera.

This way, I can stay close enough to capture your reactions, while also keeping the area clear of people and other distractions.

  • I do not offer elaborate setups (such as rose petals or candles). As I’m a one-person show, it’s just me and my camera!

  • The advanced walkthrough (onsite or virtual) is done to ensure that we can best execute your vision while also cutting out the possibility for error. Since most proposals are surprises, we’ll need to coordinate everything in advance of the actual moment!

  • This happens from time-to-time: we find a spot we really like, but on the day of the actual proposal, we can’t access it for any multitude of reasons.

Part of our thorough planning process will include identifying multiple backup options, in case we can no longer access the primary spot.

This way, when I arrive (typically an hour before you), I can easily text you to pivot to plan B, C, D or even E!
