Engagement + Couples’ Shoots

My Approach

Engagement and couples’ shoots are an incredible way to document your chemistry and connection. My aim is to highlight this in a way that feels true to you, and utilizes the very best elements of NYC.

Expect a good mix of candid and posed shots. I’ll often guide you with fun prompts to bring out those smiles, but I’m just as willing to step back and let genuine interactions unfold organically.

Ultimately, I’m very go-with-flow, and I want to ensure the experience feels equal parts easy, enjoyable, and authentic.

  • What’s included in an engagement/couples' shoot?

    60-90 minute photoshoot.

    40-50 delivered final images.

  • What's the difference between a proposal shoot and an engagement shoot?

A proposal shoot focuses on capturing the proposal, and follow-up photos that capture the emotion and excitement in real time.

An engagement shoot is a planned session after you’re already engaged.

  • What time should I do my shoot?

I’m flexible, as long as it’s during daylight. I highly recommend super early in the morning for fewer crowds and that soft warm lighting.

  • What if it rains?

Rainy shoots are often more intimate, so I’m always going to suggest we just go for it. But if you'd rather reschedule, I’m typically flexible.

  • When and how do I receive my photos?

Preview images are typically sent within 24 hours (via text), with the full gallery being sent within 7 days of the shoot (via Pixieset).

  • I'm not very familiar with NYC. Can you help me choose a spot?

Yes! Once we know the timing and vibe you’re going for, we’ll review the best location options and make sure you have clear instructions on how to get there.

  • Do you offer video services?

    No, just photography.

  • What area(s) do you serve?

    NYC!

  • What is the starting rate for engagement/couples' shoots?

    $525

Photoshoot Ideas

6:30 AM in Central Park

Before tourists and locals flood the park’s most popular sites, take advantage of the magnificent Central Park scenery with a really early morning photoshoot. At 6:30 AM, not only can you often have heavily trafficked sites like Bethesda Terrace and the Bow Bridge to yourselves, but you will be doing so during morning golden hour, where the sunlight creates a soft and flattering warm glow.

Going the Non-Traditional Route with a Subway Station Photoshoot

‘Romantic’ isn’t probably the first word that comes to mind when you think of the NYC subway system, but a subway station photoshoot is undoubtedly unique. Should you go this route (pun intended), I would recommend choosing a station that holds personal significance (your local station, the stop closest to your first date, etc.). Or, you can choose a visually stunning subway entrance like Astor Place or Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall.

Fun fact: I love photographing the subway system, and have photographed all 25 train lines (including all three S lines).

Taking in the Skyline Views from North Williamsburg’s 5 Unique Waterfront Parks

One of my favorite areas for proposals, the North Williamsburg Waterfront features five unique parks within a half-mile stretch. Piers, trees, promenades, grassy fields, and more - start at either Domino Park (and work your way north), or 50 Kent (and work your way south), taking in the incredible skyline views that most prominently show off the Empire State Building. You can read more about these parks in depth here.

Exploring the Winding Paths of the Central Park Conservatory Garden

The Conservatory Garden is typically far less crowded than other notable Central Park landmarks, mainly due to it being located in a quieter section of the park (105th and 5th). Three unique gardens, seasonal floral arrangements, endless photo opportunities - you could seriously spend hours here. Oh, and the greater park is stunning, too. Lighting-wise, the Garden really shows off 1-2 hours before sunset.

Retracing Early Memories

Maybe there’s a scenic walk you took on your third date or a specific park where you first said ‘I love you’ - revisiting these places is a beautiful way to celebrate your story. That aura of nostalgia will linger throughout the photoshoot as well, making it extra special.
